Who is this course for?
This course is a beginners level course open to all sisters who wish to learn about the funeral rites of a Muslim.
How long is this course?
This is a full day course 10:00am - 5:00pm.
How will the course be taught?
This is an interactive course where student and teacher engagement is encouraged. There will be group discussions, as well as teacher led activities. Specifically, there will be a demonstration bathing and shrouding the deceased, which will be carried out under the guidance of a qualified teacher.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yes, we advise all students to bring suitable writing material. Although course booklets will be available, you may wish to bring extra writing material for any additional notes. Also, due to the length of the course we also advise you to come with a packed lunch and suitable refreshments to maintain energy throughout the course.
What will I achieve at the end of this course?
You will gain:
- an understanding on the Islamic view of death and dying
- practical guidance to follow when a loved one passes away
- advice on how to benefit the deceased after their demise
- a spiritual awareness on how to prepare oneself for their ultimate destination
Will there be any form of assessment for this course?
There are no formal tests or exams for this course.
